Novelette
We have officially begun writing our novelette.
What's this "novelette" you speak of?
The yet-untitled novelette is a short prequel to Digital Destiny, which will feature Denver Police detectives Jack Tate and Kimi Arimuro, the heroes from Digital Destiny, in a new crime adventure. The story of the novelette will be unrelated to the full Digital Destiny novel, but it's going to feature a new puzzle for our detectives to solve!
How can our friends and fans get this novelette once it's released? Why, it's going to be a free download on our website, http://www.DigitalDestinyBook.com, tentatively in PDF format. The release of this novelette right now looks to be spring 2009. Keep checking this blog or our main website for details.
And, thanks to all of you who have so far made Digital Destiny a success!

Boulder
On Nov 14, 2008, we went to a local author's night at the Barnes & Noble on Pearl Street in Boulder. There were three other local writers there. Only a few people came to the authors' tables, but it was a cold evening, and there weren't too many customers in the store. We had a few good conversations, and Jim and I gave away a free copy in a drawing. We signed the two copies that were on the shelves, too.
Perhaps the most valuable thing we got from the event was not book sales, but the connections we made. We managed to connect with the other authors there and convinced one of them to read Digital Destiny and write a review. As well, the store manager, Jeff Oliver, was a very gracious host and we both hope to work with him again soon, as he indicated his desire to work with us again, too.
We will be scheduling other signings and appearances as we can. If you wish for Jim and I to appear at your book store, school, or event, please contact us at authors@DigitalDestinyBook.com. We are primarily interested right now in events local to the Denver area, but we welcome any offers for signings or speeches about our book, technology, or our experiences as authors.

Make a Date With Destiny
Hello and welcome to Digital Destiny, the home of the blog of Digital Destiny, a futuristic crime thriller by Jeromie Carr & James Dunn. Digital Destiny follows Jack Tate, a Denver police detective from the mid-21st century, as he strives to bring a prostitute's murderer to justice. His efforts, and his life, are turned upside down when the universal global data network registers him as dead, and he must survive outside of his high-tech society. One of the cool things about Digital Destiny is that, even though it's technically sci-fi, it was designed to appeal to people who don't read sci-fi. It has elements of murder/crime, suspense, techno-thriller, action, and intrigue. People from all walks of life have told us that they really like the book. It's no secret that action and sci-fi books generally don't appeal to women, but many women have come to us telling us that they really enjoyed Digital Destiny and they recommend it to their friends.
Of course, if you do happen to love sci-fi, it will also be an enjoyable read. We self-classified it as a "futuristic crime thriller," which is similar in genre to Blade Runner, Gattica, and Minority Report. It contains feasible, practical technology and presents societal commentary that offers hope for the future as long as the human race views technology as a tool rather than a savior.
Digital Destiny is a novel that is currently available in paperback from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or just about anywhere that can order books by title/author or ISBN. Unfortunately, while it is available for order worldwide, the only bookstores that currently carry a physical copy are a few Barnes & Nobles in the Denver area. If you want a copy for yourself to enjoy, please visit our main website, where you can order it from the publisher, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble. Electronic versions are also available for the Amazon Kindle and e-Book Reader.
